2019 Blackbird Vineyards Arise $60 per bottle
This classic Napa blend is primarily comprised of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. It’s elegance and purity of flavor come from exceptional vineyards, minimal winemaking intervention, a deep understanding of the nuanced interplay of wine and oak, and countless hours of tasting.
Winemaker Notes
Plum, cherry, pomegranate, tobacco, forest floor, nutmeg, black pepper, blood orange zest in a very integrated yet complex nose. Good mid palate richness with blackberry jam, plum and cherry, tobacco and earthy notes, tannins are plush and rich. The wine ends with good length, finishing with crushed strawberries, plum jam and milk chocolate.
Vintage Notes
The 2019 growing season was exceptional for many reasons. However, copious rain in springtime gave vines the leg up they needed. The weather in 2019 was in exceptional balance, much like the wines. 2019 endowed Napa with a scattering of hot days later mellowed by cool, consistent weather. This continued throughout the bountiful harvest. This is a vintage in which natural acidity, elegance and freshness were in no short supply. Leading to high quality wines with tremendous structure and aging potential.

2023 Blackbird Vineyards Dissonance $35 per bottle
“Dissonance” gets its name from being the outlier to Blackbird’s red blend portfolio. Dissonance brings the bright acidity of cool climate Sauvignon Blanc into harmony with the lushness of Semillon and enhances its richness through gentle lees stirring in a combination of stainless-steel tanks, small clay amphora and French Oak barrels.
Winemaker Notes
“The 2023 Dissonance shines with a beautiful, complex bouquet of lemon, lime, acacia flower, dried apricots, and a hint of Pecorino cheese. Pear and peach attack on the palate with good richness up front, impeccable balance, and bright acidity upon first sip. A long finish of pear and grapefruit complete this wine that is beautifully integrated from start to finish.”

2019 Blackbird Vineyards Contrarian $165 per bottle
Contrarian flies in the face of our own conventions. Emboldened by Cabernet Sauvignon, Contrarian possesses Blackbird’s signature aromatic richness alongside bold tannins that draw a striking contrast to the rest of the flock.
Winemaker Notes
It suffices to say that this is why I love Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon over any other region in the world. Contrarian is bursting with black currant, blackberry, clove, vanilla, nutmeg, toffee, cherry, forest floor, violets, a very soft entry. Black truffle, forest floor, porcini mushroom continue to shine and then compliment the cherry, plum, and cocoa on the long finish.

2019 Blackbird Vineyards Paramour $165 per bottle
Blackbird Vineyards’ Paramour possesses both sensuality and commanding structure. Cabernet Franc and Merlot have a fragile but irresistible chemistry that flourishes when climate, soils and seasons align. Paramour reveals the passion and harmony embodied in this love affair.
Winemaker Notes
My odyssey with Cabernet Franc took me from Napa Valley to St. Emilion and back again. Cabernet Franc has always intrigue, excited and captivated me. This vintage in Napa Valley was pure perfection with absolute perfect ripeness for Cabernet Franc across the all our sites. This is the best of Blackbird. Paramour starts with blueberry pie, cherry, plum, fennel, walnut, cola, toffee, forest floor, nutmeg, cedar and a soft attack on the midpalate. Very silky tannins lead to a cocoa, blueberry and plum finish with great length and complexity.

2019 Blackbird Vineyards Illustration $165 per bottle
Illustration represents the core of Blackbird Vineyards. Every element of its multi-faceted wine portfolio draws inspiration from this principally Merlot composition. Illustration challenges the notion that Cabernet Sauvignon is the only age-worthy red wine crafted in Napa Valley.
Winemaker Notes
Purity and balance are the key words here with wonderful brightness, density and flavor. What I hate most about most Merlot is the lack of complexity. This Merlot perfectly unifies fruit, floral, earthy and spice into a very lush, velvety, smooth and dense package. This 2019 vintage of illustration has flavors of plum, cherry, iris, cedar, root beer, porcini, cocoa, a big rich attack, plum, dark chocolate. All leading into a rich finish of cocoa, cherry and black truffle.

2022 Blackbird Arriviste $20 per bottle
Beautiful blush coral in color, the 2022 Arriviste greets you with a lingering aroma of strawberry, tart cherry, and fresh blueberries with just a touch of under ripe banana. An attack of flavors is dominated by strawberry with just a hint of lactic feel on the tongue leading to the bright acidity we blend for.
